Maybe keeping a lower profile would have benefitted Ms. Griner.
Brittney Griner would do well to read the following 4 rules for a successful and free life:
Rule #1: Do not attempt to smuggle drugs into Russia.
Rule #2: If you do attempt to smuggle drugs into Russia expect to receive a 10-year minimum prison sentence.
Rule #3: If you think being an “oppressed” black LGBTQIA+2 person will save you from a Russian gulag, think again. You’re in Russia, not America where it would have made a positive difference.
Rule #4: Don’t shit in your own backyard. Grow up and quit being a hater.
She thought her overt hatred and denigration of the USA would endear her to the FSB or whoever it is that screens Americans entering Russia. She thought she could smuggle drugs, and they’d look the other way because she hates Trump and white people? Hell, they hate Trump more than her and they are white people!
“I honestly feel we should not play the national anthem during our season. I think we should take that much of a stand.” Well Griner, I honestly feel that you should spend 10 years in a Russian prison for your stupid actions. I believe that we should take that much of a stand against drug smuggling. What say you?
Before that, Griner said she was called to social activism when Republican states were attempting to restrict male pedophiles from entering women’s restrooms. Despite her young age and the fact that nobody had ever heard of her, one article even called her one of the “most influential social activists” in sports history because of her stand for pedophiles. It said in part: ‘In 2017, Griner, one of a handful of WNBA athletes who have publicly identified themselves as lesbian, took a bold stand with another WNBA player, Layshia Clarendon, co-writing an article against a bill in Texas that would have limited the rights of members of the LGBTQIA+2 community to use restrooms and other public facilities of their choice.’
The two basketball stars saw the bill as a particular threat to LGBTQIA+2 athletes who could have been forced to use a locker room inconsistent with their gender identity.
“While we do not identify as transgender, we know what it feels like to be singled out for not fitting neatly into social norms,” they wrote.”
It can safely be concluded that the wealthy, famous, and pampered Griner lives a life of once-unimaginable luxury. Across history and geography, she is certainly one of the most blessed and privileged individuals to ever wake up each morning on this planet. Aside from natural human tragedy wrought merely by being, Griner knows no pain. This is all the more impressive given her place in this world as a young, black woman – traits all inculcated to elicit the thought of her oppression.
However, in spite of access to everything desired and only dreamt of by billions of people, Griner has embraced the harmful, damaging, and deadly rhetoric of “critical” thinking and theories. As a result, Griner epitomizes ignorance and ingratitude. She is spoiled, yet demands more coddling. She was born and lives in the freest and wealthiest country on earth, yet demands it continues to give her more. The “more” is never articulated coherently.
If not for the sudden warmongering from the D.C. Establishment and Griner’s professional fame, this would be a nonstory. Ignoring even the former, the latter is what will likely get Griner, if it does happen, off the hook. Would a non-celebrity stand a chance in a foreign country’s legal system? Ms. Griner, that is what we call privilege. You’re welcome.
Brittney Griner, despite being a black female, has enormous privilege in the fact that she is wealthy and well (enough) known. Should she be rescued from her supposed fate, she ought to reconsider her worldview. Is America so bad that it would embark on a diplomatic mission to free her from her own mistake? Is America so awful that she can get as high as she wants without worrying about prosecutorial concerns? Her future in Russia is dreary; her future in America is promising.
How’s that LGBTQIA+2 support network working out for you?
