This continuing saga of transgenders requiring appropriate accommodations, awards, newly discovered Constitutional Rights, and special treatment, by individuals, corporations, and governments is getting out-of-bounds silly and dangerous.
Will “Lia” Thomas is not a woman, no matter how many times he claims it to be so. He was the #462nd ranked male college swimmer. A year later ‘she’ is the #1 ranked female swimmer. But he isn’t really a woman. He is a man competing against girls.
Richard “Rachel” Levine is not a woman, no matter how many times he claims it to be so. He is the Asst. Secretary of Health and a “four-star admiral” in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. But he isn’t really a woman. He is a man.
How can a non-military governmental bureaucracy assign military rankings is insulting and demeaning to bonafide Generals and Admirals and all the fine men and women that serve in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. You can rest assured that they earned each and every chevron, crossed rifles, bar, oak leaf, bird, and star along their journey. It wasn’t just handed out as an honorary title.
Possibly was “Captain” of The Captain and Tennille was also a career Navy Captain that commanded a warship and only sang pop songs for fun on the side?
You are allowed and these days are somewhat encouraged to “identify” as, well anything you want. You can identify as a rock. You can identify as the wind. You can identify as a jaguar (the animal, not the car, though you could identify as a car if you wanted to). You can identify as a tree. As a man, you can identify as a woman.
But if you’re being intellectually honest and not playing silly little “woke” games to appease the maladjusted, you know that you really are not a rock, not the wind, not a jaguar (the animal or the car), not a tree, and not a woman either.
You also cannot expect the entire world to change what is their adjusted view of their world, whatever that is, to appease your fantasies. No, Richard and Will, we won’t call you she, her, madam, miss, missus, ma’am, or any feminine anything just because you want to use little girl’s and women’s restrooms, showers, locker rooms, compete against girls in sports, etc.
You are not the only ones with rights. Women’s rights trump your rights no matter what some namby-pamby Circuit Court judge says. To say otherwise is to say that 3+ billion women are not the “real” women and are wrong about how they feel about themselves?
We also have rights that are actually enumerated in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, and nowhere does either mention appeasing Richard Levine and/or Will Thomas so that they feel better about themselves and their sexuality. Read them for yourself.
Just as in rudeness, sloth, and criminal activity, your right to be you ends at the point where it interferes with my right to be me, and vice versa. That is something you need to educate yourself on.
You can identify as a woman, and you can let people who wish to play along with your narrative do so. There is nothing wrong with that. That IS your right as it is theirs.
But you should not be able to force, by law, the rest of us to acquiesce to your fantasies or whims so that you feel better when you go home to your “husband” at night. That IS NOT your right. That is authoritarianism.
