Joe Biden, again, had an opportunity to be forthcoming and somewhat honest with the American people, but he continues to believe that you are too stupid to realize that $2 is more than $1, and to rub our collective noses in it. Remember, his drug addict, porn addicted, prostitute buying son is “the smartest person” he knows, if that’s an indicator.
Biden made an appearance on the CBS show “60 Minutes”, in what Slo’ Joe can only be described as a one-man wrecking crew.
Biden claimed America’s military machine will come to Taiwan’s defense if China attacks them. His “people” walked that back.
Then he declared the pandemic is “over”, although he just gave out $1.5 trillion in loan forgiveness as he insisted the ongoing pandemic was causing extreme hardships to college graduates. This was 14 days ago. His “people” walked that back.
But the elephant in the room was inflation, and he managed to give us an economics lesson for the ages.
When 60 Minutes question asker Scott Pelley took note of the state of America’s economy and said that “people are shocked at their grocery bills”, Biden was mucho offended and gave a hearty endorsement of his policies and their aftermath.
Biden mumbled that the “inflation rate month to month was up just an inch, hardly at all. You make it sound like, all of a sudden, ‘My God, it went to 8.2 percent.’
Pelley: It’s the highest inflation rate, Mr. President, in 40 years.
Biden: “I got that. But guess what we are. We’re in a position where for the last several months, it hasn’t spiked. It has just barely — it’s been basically even.”
So, according to Slo’ Joe and his compliant media wing, because inflation hasn’t “spiked” (reached its peak), it’s a good thing? We’re basically paying 20-100% or more for everything, and we’re supposed to be happy about it because it’s only going to go higher is what he is saying.
He is so clueless when he speaks, it is astounding. He’s the proverbial ‘yeah I’m peeing on your leg BUT I told you it’s only rain, and you can’t believe your own eyes. Listen and obey. All Hail Dear Leader O’Biden.’
Facts and numbers matter. Inflation is only “up an inch”, whatever the hell that means. We always thought inflation was measured in dollars and cents, not inches and feet, but Biden again is fundamentally changing how America thinks and behaves.
In September 2020, bacon cost under $3.98 per pound. Today it’s $7.99 per pound for your run-of-the-mill brand. That’s a 100% price jump, all of which occurred after Biden took office.
In September 2020, one gallon of whole milk cost $3.18. Now, the grocery store’s off-brand milk costs $4.89, a price increase of about 70 percent.
Milk is an input into multiple other foods, such as cheese, sour cream, cream for your morning coffee, and more. When milk goes up, it has a big effect on the prices of many other edibles.
In September 2020, eggs were $1.12 for a dozen Large Grade A. Now, those eggs cost $3.21 for 12. For some reason my local Walmart always had Jumbo eggs for $.99 a dozen. Now that same dozen Jumbo eggs is $3.54. That is nearly a 300% increase on Large Grade A eggs and a 350% increase on Jumbo eggs.
In September 2020, wheat bread was $1.95 for a 1 lb. loaf. This morning in was sitting at $3.19, a 64% price hike. The price of white bread was $1.29 and is now at $2.79. A 116% price spike. That is NOT an inch Joe!
In September of 2020 spaghetti was basically selling for $1.20 a pound, and now is about $1.85 a pound, more than a 50$ inching up in pricing.
In September of 2020, a pound of sugar was $.58, but now costs $.87. Again more than a 50% increase.
In September of 2020, all-purpose enriched flour cost $.47 a pound, but is now $.80 a pound.
In September of 2020, a pound of chicken breasts cost $2.90 a pound, but today cost $4.99 or more per pound. A 72% inching up in pricing Joe!
In September of 2020, a pound of ground beef cost $3.74 a pound, but now it’s sitting at $6.29 a pound. That’s about a 70% increase.
In September of 2020, a pound of cheddar cheese for your ground beef cost $5.13 a pound, but now it’s up to just over $6 a pound, only a 17% increase, so far.
Now the silliness begins. Potato chips you say? One of America’s favorite snacks, when we could afford them. In September 2020, a bag of America’s fave chips were between $3.98-$4.50 for a 16 oz. bag. Now an 8 oz. bag of the same chips are more than the 16 oz. bag used to cost. Did you ever think we’d have a $9 bag of Lay’s chips in the USA? Well, we do now.
Thank you Joe Biden, 100% of Democrats and 75% of Republicans for tanking the American economy in just 19 months!
I’d vote for the Devil himself over any professional politician going forward from here. The political class has screwed us, no KY, and there are only 2 parties. Politicians vs citizens. The Dems and Reps eat and drink from the same trough, the one WE pay for.
